Dogs can see what people sometimes lose sight of.
The world is constantly bombarding beleaguered humans with the idea that you need to do more, be better, buy this juice fast, take this course, have more money, look different, to be worthy.
It's all trying to make humans feel inadequate, so that you buy someone else's solution. And another one. And another …
Dogs are immune to this, so let me tell you a truth:
You are enough.
Just as you are. Without changes.
You are lovable as you are. You don't have to be different, be more, be anything to be valuable.
You are already valuable.
You are trying, you exist, you are loved.
The next time you see ad ad or social media post that makes you feel less-than and you think, "I should lose a few pounds," or "I'm not rich enough," or "I'm a talentless hack because my novel got rejected again," or "When my SaaS product has reached $100k MRR, then I'll be worthy," just PAUSE for a moment. Take a breath.
Ask yourself: "Would my dog agree?"
(Your dog would not agree.)
You deserve rest. You deserve kindness. You are not your SaaS product, or a number on a scale, or your book, or anything else humans use to judge themselves.
You deserve good things, just because you're you.
Your dog wants to curl up on the couch with you, or run through a field with you, or drip saliva all over your shoe while you scratch behind my ears, not because of all you've done, or because of everything you've accomplished. Those things are great, but the only thing that matters is you.
You are wonderful, just as you are. Today, this moment.
You are enough.
